Jamtland in Sweden - Hunting and Stalking Giant Moose with Moosedogs

interhunt.com_giant_moose_swedenWhat is so unique when hunting moose in Sweden, is the use of dogs. We are offering a few hunters the possibility to an exclusive moosehunt in the mountainous forests of Jamtland, on this exclusive area belonging to the laps we have the right to take a few hunters.

The hunt is conducted on a 1:1 basis, where the hunter will team up with the doghandler and his well trained and highly skilled dog. The hunt will be a combination of spot and stalk in the mornings and late afternoon and during the day we will be hunting with dogs. This mode of hunting is known to provide good results and this in an area where some of the largest moose of Europe has been taken. The moose hunt can be combined with hunting for capercaille and the possibility of Bear.

There is no alternative, if you are interested in trying and experiencing moosehunting in Sweden, at its best.

Day 1:
Arrival at Ostersund. If you arrive by plane, we will arrange to meet you and provide further transportation (65 km.) to the hunting area of Offerdalen. After dinner, a briefing will take place, with information pertaining to the hunt, safety precautions and so on.

Day 2 - 5:
After breakfast, the hunters will team up with the doghandlers and continue to the hunting area of the day. Lunch is packed during breakfast. Allow for a full days hunt in a challenging terrain. Killed animals are transported out of the hunting area by helicopter or fourwheelers. At the end of the day, a steaming hot sauna awaits, along with cold beer and dried reindeer meat. Followed by dinner. In case you wish to spend the last evening in a hotel, this is easily arranged.

Day 6:
Breakfast and departure.
